Day 1: Mumbai-Sofia
Departure from Mumbai to arrive in Sofia. Transfer to the hotel for check-in. After brief rest, proceed for a brief panoramic tour of the Bulgarian capital before dinner. Overnight at hotel (D)
Day 2: Sofia
After breakfast at the hotel proceed for City tour of Sofia starting with Alexander Nevsky Cathedral – the symbol of Sofia; the St. Sophia Basilica- built in 6th century; St. George Rotunda, Banya Bashi Mosque- near which is located one of the oldest commercial complex – Central Sofia Market Hall also known as “Halite“ or “Tsentralni Hali“ opened in 1911, showing unique architecture and containing many stores for food, clothes, shoes etc. Evening free time for shopping on Vitosha blvd, famous with its many stores of world known brands. After dinner,transfer back to the hotel for overnight. ( B,D)
Day 3: Sofia-Rila Monastry-Sofia
Start the morning with excursion to Rila Monastery – the most exquisite example of the monastery art and architecture in Bulgaria. Guided tour of the monastery complex. Visit to Nativity of the Virgin Church(optional) with its miracle icon of the Virgin and splendid gilded iconostasis, the old kitchen, the monastery museum (optional) where you can learn about the long and heroic history of the monastery, the wood carved cross made for a period of twelve years by a monk called Rafael, Hrelyo’s Tower(optional) and many spectacular views from the mountain and the surrounding nature. Transfer back to Sofia. Dinner and overnight at hotel. ( B,D)
Day 4: Sofia-Plovdiv-Bourgas
Check out of hotel after breakfast and proceed eastwards to Plovdiv- Bulgaria’s second largest city and one of Europe’s oldest towns. Discover the history and culture behind an 8,000-year old settlement, by the Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, and Bulgarian civilizations. Enjoy sightseeing in the Old Town with its museums, historical monuments and revival period houses and lined with souvenir shops. Visit the Roman Amphitheatre before proceeding onward to Bourgas for overnight at hotel.(B,D)
Day 5: Bourgas-Nessebar-Varna
After breakfast, check out of hotel and start city tour of Bourgas located on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. Visit the Sea Garden and Burgas bridge before continuing onto Nessebar-a museum town under the UNESCO protection – located on a peninsula, known for its narrow cobbled stone streets and the distinctive architecture of the typical Nessebar houses from the Bulgarian Renaissance. Introduction of cultures of different ages and peoples – the Thracians, the Romans, the Slavs, the Byzantines and the Bulgarians. Take a walking tour to visit the sights in the old town-the churches of “Sveti Stefan” and “Sveti Spas”. Later transfer to Varna. Overnight at hotel (B,D)
Day 6: Varna
After breakfast take a walking tour of Varna city – the sea capital of Bulgaria. Visit Varna Cathedral – one of the symbols of the city built in 1886 ; Sea garden with the National hall of Sports and Culture, the Retro Museum, Local market etc. Dinner and overnight at hotel (B,D)
Day 7: Varna-Bucharest
After breakfast check out of hotel. Enjoy the Bulgarian country side en-route to Bucharest. Stop in the “small Vienna of the Balkans”- Ruse, the city on the Danube River. Here take a short walking tour in city center, with all the prominent sights. Later cross the Danube to reach Bucharest-Paris of the East. After dinner, check in at the hotel for overnight. (B,D)
Day 8: Bucharest
Start Bucharest City Tour – Bucharest is Romania’s capital and the most populated city. It is also the industrial and commercial centre of the country. The architecture is marvellous- every single building has a story of its own; a story written on the walls, on the bricks and on the frame of the windows. Visit The Old town-Uniri square, Obor market, etc. Visit the open air Heritage Village Museum- a unique collection of traditional farmhouses, cottages, windmills, watermills and artisans’ workshops from all parts of the country. Overnight at hotel. (B,D)
Day 9: Bucharest-Veliko Tarnovo
After breakfast depart Bucharest and travel to Veliko Tarnovo located on the Yantra River. Visit the Tsarevets fortress and late check into hotel. Free time till dinner.(B,D)
Day 10: Veliko Tarnovo
Today start walking tour of the Old town in Veliko Tarnovo after breakfast. It will teleport you back in time, to make you a spectator of the rise and fall of the mighty capital of the Second Bulgarian kingdom (12-14 century). By walking on the winding cobble streets, you will learn and feel how its proud population lived under the Turkish oppression, developing fabulous architectural masterpieces and established cohesive and powerful craftsmen’s guild.
Visit of Tsarevets Fortress , Ansens monument, Park Sveta Gora, etc. Evening Sound and Light show (Optional) Overnight at hotel (B,D)
Day 11: Veliko Tarnovo-Sofia
After breakfast, depart for Sofia airport. En-route, make a brief stop in Pravets- famous for its communist heritage. Proceed onward to Sofia airport for flight home with happy memories. (B)
On arrival in Tashkent proceed for lunch; check in at hotel. Freshen up and proceed for Tashkent city tour Visit Independence Square, Victory Monument, Broadway street with artist and Souvenirs, Amir Timur Square, Lal Bakhadur Shastri Monument. After dinner, return to Hotel for overnight. (L,D)
